Model and Generation
M-series chip models use different display assemblies to their Intel predecessors. Each generation requires a specific replacement panel, and newer models often command a higher parts cost.
Display Technology
Standard Retina IPS (MacBook Air Intel, 13-inch Pro) is less expensive to replace than Liquid Retina XDR ProMotion mini-LED technology found in the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
Extent of Damage
A small crack often still requires full assembly replacement due to the bonded construction. Backlight failure is a separate fault that also requires full assembly replacement — not a bulb swap.
Part Availability
